Work With Me

Therapy for Individuals

Is therapy right for you?

Therapy is one of the most powerful forms of self-care. At Positive Living, we believe in a collaborative, compassionate approach to healing, one that supports mental health, fosters personal growth, and enhances overall well-being.

    • Do you feel overwhelmed, overstimulated, anxious, or emotionally drained?

    • Are you struggling with emotional regulation or frequent mood shifts?

    • Do you find it difficult to connect with others?

    • Are you reactive, easily triggered, or unsure where your emotional responses are coming from?

    • Are you finding challenges in parenting?

    • Are you a mom who feels the effects of burnout?

    • Do you battle with low self-esteem, self-worth, perfectionism, or confidence?

    • Are you stuck in patterns of constant worry or catastrophizing?

    • Do you suspect you're being gaslit by someone in your life?

    • Are boundaries hard to set or maintain?

    • Are you going through a major life transition or change?

    • Do you have unresolved trauma?

    • Do you just feel stuck?

If any of this resonates, you're not alone and you're in the right place.

  • At Positive Living, therapy is person-centered, judgment-free, and tailored to move at your own pace. My priority is to build a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship, because trust is the foundation of meaningful, lasting change.

I want to understand your story, your challenges, your stressors, your wins, and the things that bring you joy. Therapy is not just about getting through hard times, it's about creating a life that feels meaningful, authentic, and fulfilling.

Let’s work together to help you reconnect with yourself and move toward the life you deserve.

Therapy for Couples

It doesn’t have to be over.

Relationships are deeply rewarding, but they also require consistent effort. They thrive on commitment, mutual respect, flexibility, and a genuine willingness to grow together. In today’s fast-paced world, where careers, parenting, and endless to-do lists often take priority, it’s not uncommon for couples to feel disconnected or emotionally distant over time.

As individuals evolve, so do relationships. Changes in communication, shifts in intimacy, and unresolved conflicts can leave partners feeling unheard, unseen, or misunderstood.

    • Why do we keep having the same arguments?

    • Why does communication so often lead to conflict?

    • Have we lost our emotional or physical connection?

    • Can we rebuild trust and find joy in one another again?

If any of this resonates with you, you're not alone. Nearly all couples face challenges at some point in their journey.

  • Couples therapy can be a transformative space to reconnect, repair, and rebuild. Whether you're dating, engaged, married, or navigating a separation, Positive Living offers compassionate, collaborative support tailored to your unique needs. Together, we’ll explore:

    • Communication breakdowns

    • Emotional and physical intimacy struggles

    • Parenting conflicts

    • Infidelity and trust issues

    • Repeating patterns and emotional triggers

    • Life transitions that impact the relationship

At Positive Living, we’re here to help you strengthen your connection and build a relationship that feels safe, balanced, and fulfilling.

Therapy for Anxiety

What do you know about anxiety?

Everyone experiences anxiety, and we should. It can help motivate us when accomplishments are challenging, when the to-do list is large, when we need to problem-solve, it can signal potential danger, and can build resilience, but I’m guessing that’s not why you’re here. Anxiety becomes a disorder when it becomes persistent, excessive, and when it begins to interfere with our daily life.

You might sometimes notice your heart beating faster, your breath feeling shallow, or your muscles tensing. You may feel restless, “on edge,” or caught up in worry and overthinking. Sleep can become harder, and it can feel difficult to concentrate or sit still. If this describes some of what you’re feeling, you’re in the right place.

Here is the good news. Anxiety can be treated. At Positive Living we tailor treatment to each unique individual, and it typically falls into one or all of the following.

Treatment Options

  • Even gentle shifts in your daily life can bring meaningful relief from anxiety. At Positive Living, we’ll help you explore small practices that add up to real change, like:

    • Being present – simple mindfulness tools to steady your thoughts

    • Soothing your body – calming techniques to ease tension

    • Nurturing a positive outlook – inviting more joy and gratitude into your day

    • Prioritizing restful sleep – routines that help your body and mind reset

    • Reconnecting socially – moving at your own pace back into the world around you

  • There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to healing. Together, we’ll find the therapies that feel right for you. Some options we offer include:

    • EMDR – a gentle, evidence-based way to process and heal from painful or traumatic memories

    • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – practical tools to shift unhelpful thoughts and patterns

    • Internal Family Systems (IFS) – a compassionate way of understanding and integrating your inner “parts”

    • Attachment Therapy – exploring how early experiences shape current relationships and self-esteem

  • Having caring people around you can make a world of difference. Whether it’s a friend, family member, colleague, or therapist, feeling supported helps reduce isolation, boost confidence, and strengthen your coping skills. We can also help you build or deepen your own support system.

  • Sometimes anxiety needs a more comprehensive approach. In those situations, we collaborate closely with licensed medical or psychiatric professionals who can prescribe and manage medication when appropriate—while we continue to support you therapeutically. This way, your care feels coordinated, compassionate, and centered on you.

Therapy for Trauma

Is the aftermath of trauma overwhelming you?

Trauma is not what happened to you. How many times have we heard that? It’s true. Consider that the exact same incident could happen to two different people, yet one person could come out relatively unscathed, while the other is left with overwhelming symptoms. For many, traumatic responses can be deeply disturbing and can affect you physically, emotionally, and mentally. To further complicate matters, the way trauma shows up also varies from person to person, however, what we typically see is anxiety, depression, numbness, intrusive thoughts, flashbacks, sleep disturbances, nightmares, relationship challenges, a diminished sense of self, and an inability to feel a full range of emotions and experiences. Whether you are struggling from single incident post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), or complex PTSD, which is a prolonged, repeated, and often formed in childhood type trauma, healing is possible.

  •  At Positive Living, we understand that healing from trauma is deeply personal, and no single approach works for everyone. That’s why every treatment plan is thoughtfully tailored to your unique needs.

Our work together may include EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a gentle and effective way to process and heal from painful memories and experiences. We may also draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to explore the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, creating space for healthier patterns.

For clients who benefit from a more internal, self-discovery approach, we offer Internal Family Systems (IFS), which helps you understand and integrate the different parts of yourself with compassion. In more complex cases, such as Dissociative Identity Disorder, we use Structural Dissociation Therapy, a phased approach that focuses first on stabilization and reducing distress, then processing trauma safely, and ultimately moving toward integration and wholeness.

Our goal is to walk alongside you, providing evidence-based support while honoring your pace, your story, and your healing journey.

EMDR Therapy

What is EMDR Therapy?

You may have heard of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy but aren’t quite sure what it is or how it works. You’re not alone.

EMDR is an evidence-based, 8-phase therapeutic approach originally developed for treating trauma, PTSD, and, when appropriate, complex PTSD. Today, it is also widely recognized as an effective treatment for a range of other concerns, including anxiety, phobias, grief, and more.

  • Our brains are designed to process experiences in a healthy, adaptive way. But when trauma or intense stress occurs, that system can become overwhelmed, leaving memories “stuck” in an unprocessed state.

EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (such as side-to-side eye movements, tapping, or auditory tones), which mimics the brain activity that occurs during REM sleep, the phase in which emotional processing naturally happens. Through this process, clients are able to reprocess distressing memories, reducing their emotional charge and allowing for more adaptive beliefs and responses to emerge.

    • Rapid reduction in emotional distress

    • A shift in negative core beliefs

    • Relief from somatic (body-based) symptoms

    • Improved emotional regulation

    • Enhanced self-esteem

    • Better sleep quality

    • Greater insight and personal awareness
